Gawker launches new sports blog

Another Gawker site launches and really, I'm not a big fan of the Gawker sites. Accept that one with the nipple slips. But that's just me. This latest Gawker blog is Deadspin, which is a sports blog. Much like their aother names it's like someone threw darts at a an expired domain list.

Jacob Gower made some news in the sphere lately by buying up several blogs and related sites, including some high profile ones from 9 Rules (Forever Geek, CSS Vault). Now he's put them together with other properties and launched the new blogging network called "Bloggy Network".

The Blog Logic Network has announced their latest blog titled Drywall Secrets. I have a friend who hangs drywall for a living and I wonder if this blog will knock off around noon on Friday to pick up paychecks and beer ;)

Writers Write, Inc Launches Health News Blog

Writers Write, Inc is on a roll. Today they announced the launch of yet another blog in their network, the Health News Blog. Unless I'm mistaken this puts them at 16 blogs.

Bloglogic redsigns - network sites to follow suit

Bloglogic gets a new paint job and it looks damn tasty. Paul says the other sites in the network will follow suit shortly with mainly the colors being different. I think this is a better look overall and different enough from the other blog networks to give a good sense of branding for the Bloglogic network.

St. Petersburg Times launches a new blog called Stir Crazy bringing to total number of blogs to 13 which makes this one blog savvy media company in my book. It seems they get blogging and are evolving their offerings to compete in the new market.

The iFroggy Network launches MicrosoftBlog.com, billed as "an unofficial pro Microsoft blog featuring Microsoft related news and commentary". MicrosoftBlog is the latest blog from the network and joins blogs like Dr. Greg House, YanksBlog and MarianoRivera.com. Along with the recent launch of Community Promotion, this brings the total number of sites in the growing network to 20. A nice round number if every there was one!

A List Apart relaunches as version 4.0 and with this relaunch expands their focus. The most recent incarnation focused mainly on web standards and accessibility. The new version will cover more in the way of design and development, which I think will breath new life into the zine. It's been a while since I read ALA religiously and I hope this new change brings me back to the fold.

Looks like a solid idea and I hope it does well. It will be interesting to see how an open network like this plays out as I've been planning something along those lines with IndieBlogs.net.

SEO Roundtable reports "JimWorld Design Revamped", which I'm glad to hear. The site never was much of a looker. The site tried a bit of a new look a while back in hopes to breath some freshness into it. But the new design is truly befitting a web site about web sites. Nice job.
